Event~ At the St Regis

The St Regis in Monarch Beach has this great little private area right on the golf course for weddings and events called Club 19. It is perfect for smaller weddings or events, and it has a great view!
One of our regular clients hosted a Christmas party there this week for family and friends. She chose warm copper, reds, and oranges for her centerpieces. We think they turned out really nice! You can see more photos from the event on our Facebook places page. Be sure to "like" us while you are there!

Did you know....

Did you know that Poinsettias are NOT poisonous? I know, I know, you've always heard that they were.... but they are not!

According to MedicineNet.com "While the genus (Euphorbia) to which the poinsettia plant belongs does contain some highly toxic plants, the popular poinsettia itself is not toxic." Even Snopes.com had something to say about the poinsettia myth! ttp://www.snopes.com/holidays/christmas/poinsettia.asp

Now, nobody said you can add them to your salad (I hear they taste awful!) but now you can feel safe bringing home a few poinsettia. They make the house feel so festive and cheery! And we have some gorgeous 3 and 4 stem beauties in the store right now! Come by and grab one for yourself or send one to a loved one. Happy Holidays!

Cassandra and Joe~ Huntington Harbor Wedding

We meet Cassandra at the Wedding Show in Dana Point Harbor. The funny thing was that she was planning her wedding at the Huntington Harbor Yacht Club and not the Dana Point one :) She chose us out of all the florists to do her flowers for her and drive them up there for the set up. There were a unique combination of white roses, white hydrangea, stephanotis and dark mini Calla Lilies for the bride's bouquet and hydrangea and white dendrobium orchids for the bride's table and the guest's centerpieces. Thank you to Shea Weddings for sharing the image of the bride and groom and to A Warm Reception, the wedding planner.

Jennifer and Brian~ Casa Romantica, San Clemente Wedding

If you are planning a wedding in South Orange County, Casa Romantica should defiantly be on your list of places to visit. It is a beautiful, rustic, "Old California" venue overlooking San Clemente Pier and the ocean! We had the privilege of providing the flowers for Jennifer and Brian's wedding there at the beginning of November. No big elaborate centerpieces for this wedding- they wanted simple and clean for their wedding flowers. Thank you to Weddings by Jeanie and Tyler Branch Photography for the photos of the wedding party.

Alison and Karey~ Wedding at the Chart House

I just love gerber daisy (or gerbera daisy, as they are sometimes called) weddings!! They are always so bright and cheery! This wedding took place at the Chart House Restaurant in Dana Point, Ca- both the wedding and the reception! Nice and easy! And the view is spectacular!! It was such a beautiful day for a wedding overlooking Dana Point Harbor too! So clear and pretty. Cute Little Wedding

It's not often that we are able to document the numerous small weddings that we do here at McCool Flowers- and we do A LOT! It just so happened that I had my camera at work the day we put this one together for a bride who was getting married at the gazebo here in Dana Point overlooking the Harbor.

Christina and David~ Wedding at Gloria Dei/ Ocean Institute

We love receptions at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point Harbor! And this wedding was at the lovely Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, also in Dana Point. Take a look at the incredible shell boutineer our bride asked us to design for the wedding! They turned out really cool!! All the grooms men had them. And because there are so few flowers that are Tiffany Blue, we added these fun sparkle pieces to Christina's bride's bouquet. We think it turned out really nice. You can see more photos on our Facebook Places page. Thank you Gavin Wade Photographers for sharing photos with us!

Poppy and Aaron~ Marbella Country Club Wedding

Such a beautiful venue for a wedding! Marbella Country Club, for those of you who are unfamiliar with it, is located in San Juan Capistrano and is an exclusive gated community with a wonderful country club that they have just recently begun renting to those who do not officially belong! The backdrop is a beautiful golf course with the hills behind it!
And the Choopah (that is the official name for the structure the bride and groom stand under at a Jewish wedding for those of you who did not know)- well, the Choopah looked spectacular against the green of the golf course with the beautiful green and white flowers! You can view more photos of the flowers on the Choopah by visiting our Facebook Page

The brides bouquet was a beautiful mix of hydrangea, freesia, lizianthus, hypericum and queen anne's lace. A beautiful dreamy bridal bouquet!

Jennifer and Jeff~ Wedding at the Hotel Laguna

The Hotel Laguna is such a unique venue! Built in 1888 and located right in the middle of all the fun of Laguna Beach, it is truly one of a kind. Jennifer and Jeff chose it for their wedding and used the sweet little courtyard with the gazebo for their ceremony.
